Personal Assessment Quiz for Alcohol or Drug Abuse (CAGE)

Do you wonder if you might have a drug or alcohol abuse problem? Do you think you could benefit from addiction treatment? This simple assessment test, referred to as the CAGE questionnaire (or CAGE alcohol test), can help you answer these questions. It offers a simple methodology for determining if you have an alcohol or drug problem and can provide a quick indication for the need for a follow-up assessment. Online assessments like the CAGE screening test have been used by doctors and other licensed professionals to help reverse addiction.

Scoring: Item responses on the CAGE are scored 0 for “no” and 1 for “yes” answers, with a higher score is an indication of alcohol problems. A total score of 2 or greater is considered clinically significant.
